Hello friends, I'm so excited to share this DIY with you all. It was a spur of the moment idea and it just so happened to work because it's such a budget friendly one and this part of our second family room needed a little something.
We were very aware when we bought this home that it did not have a fireplace and though it wasn't a deal breaker it was still something I knew I'd miss having around. This house has everything we were seeking for and more besides the fireplace so it wasn't a deal breaker. Hopefully our next home (cough* cough* eventually) definitely will have one but for now a faux fireplace works just fine.
I took my time to look around FBMP and didn't expect to find anything right away but hopeful it would be sooner rather than later. I found a couple that I had hoped would work but no luck due to size and then I found this one for only $50.
Thankfully it came in 3 pieces therefore it was easy enough to carry downstairs and put together and my husband was able to secure it to the wall for safety purposes especially since I my heavy mirror was going right on top of it.
I could have brainstormed quite a bit as to the color I wanted and how to cover the outlets on the wall but for now I went with what I had on hand and went with a black for a quick and easy. Down the line I will probably play with the design of it a bit more. But we're happy with how it turned out for now.
Now it was time to get decorating it for the holidays.
It definitely warms up the space and I can't wait to share more of our holiday decor around our home. But for now this faux fireplace mantle is giving me all the feels.
