In today's post "How To Make Your Kitchen Appear More Unique".
Have you noticed nowadays that more kitchens are starting to look the same? Whether you look on Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, magazines, or even home decor shows, they all seem to have a common theme.
Most of the kitchens are all white, with similar countertops and similar kitchen backsplashes; the decor is similar, and even the layouts seem to be the same.
It’s not hard to see why, nowadays, everyone is after layouts that can boost their property value, and transforming your kitchen into something a little more modern is technically the best way to go.

But sometimes custom kitchen designers and some thinking outside the box might be better.
You see trends come and go, but you’re always going to need your kitchen.
So why not make it unique? Make it into something that’s timeless and screams who you are!
So, here’s what you can do to make your kitchen more unique!
Go with a Different Backsplash
You’re always going to need a backsplash for your stove. Sure, while having an air fryer is great, as well as other kitchen appliances, it’s going to be far from realistic to expect to only stick to appliances and not the stove. Grease, grime, and food splatter on your wall, and these have been needed for centuries now. But currently, the trend is subway tiles.
While the subway backsplash is great, it can easily be agreed that it’s far away from being unique. So instead, why not go with tiles? While yes, it can be a pain to install these, they’re gorgeous and come in so many different styles from Dutch, Portuguese, and Moroccan; you name it!
Choose the Colors Wisely
Neutrals are in right now, maybe a little too in. If you look online, you’re going to find mainly beige and white kitchens. What happened to dark brown kitchens? Those Tuscan-themed kitchens? What about black? If you really want to make sure that your kitchen looks entirely unique, then it might be best to go with something a bit bold or different.
While it doesn’t need to be neon colors (which would make it over-the-top unique), it’s more about going with something different that’s still aesthetically pleasing while still being functional at the same time. Bold colors could work out immensely.
Even dark colors like black and navy are known for being fantastic and luxurious. Besides, sometimes, it’s as easy as just getting some paint and painting.
Display Collections
While a lot of kitchens still have the classic hutch, something you could never go wrong with, in a way, these and other display collections can be unique. You don’t necessarily need to show off fancy dishes. Instead, it could be something else, such as glassware, bottles of wine, or even something really niche, like antique cutting boards. In general, don’t take this space too seriously; just try to have fun with it.
Consider the Art
Now, one of the best ways to really make a unique kitchen is what you choose to be on the walls and on display. Art is one of the best things you can do for your kitchen!
Maybe consider a painting, like a still life of fruit, or even have fun with it by displaying prints. But in general, it’s important to consider adding art rather than leaving the walls empty.
This is what I wanted in our kitchen now, to speak more of our personality but make it a timeless kitchen that I won't want to change anything about it in quite a while.
Even though all we did was change the color and add a few fixtures, our kitchen feels warm and cozy and it makes me happy every time I walk into it.
