Hallway Wall Project Progress

Writer: SandraJoanSandraJoan

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. This was a project I have been really looking to come to life. Coming up our stairs from downstairs or heading into the garage this blank canvas wall was bothering me. As a creative and love for interior design adding something to this wall was a must but I wanted it to be simple and that I could do myself.

This project might've taken me longer than anticipated. But it was worth the wait. With the holidays I paused at this project and knew I would finally get it going in January again.

We're finally near the finish line. I just want to add the ledge to the top of the beadboard wallpaper and hopefully some art. Then we can finally call it a day.

What I used for this project...

Personally I prefer to use a wood at the top piece, I used it in our guest bathroom too when I did the same design. The wooden shaker pegs have come in handy as well, at first I wasnt certain I wanted to use them but I'm glad I did. Plus I made sure to stain them for a darker wood color contrast. I love that I can add personality to this wall by hanging a few favorite items that I'd like to display if need be.

Though it's not actual bead board from Home Depot, I feel like you can hardly tell if you don't look too closely or even if you do truly I don't see much of a difference. It is a bit tricky to get on the wall without the bubbles so you have to be very patient when working with this wallpaper but over all what's nice is that you can hide a lot of the imperfections once you paint over it.

With this wallpaper technically you don't need to use adhesive, because you can wet it and it has the same effect (had built in adhesive on the wallpaper itself) but I prefer it. Sticks on better in my opinion. Of course I used the paint color we've used on our interior doors and it only seemed appropriate to paint this wall the same color.

I love how it's turned out so far and can't wait to add the final details. If you have any questions or if I might've missed something please feel free to ask in the comment section below. I'll make sure to share more once this project is finished.

Already almost finished with our next project of 2025 so stay tuned.
