Downstairs 'Basement' Bathroom Makeover

Downstairs 'Basement' Bathroom Makeover

So this Downstairs 'Basement' Bathroom Makeover has been sometime coming. I've been meaning to blog about this makeover since the beginning of September.

It's not the biggest makeover because there was literally no big demolition done, like most of my DIY makeovers as of lately. But paint has been our best friend since moving into this house.

It's hard to photograph this bathroom because there's no windows therefore no natural light, it's in our basement family room though there's windows in the living area and other rooms lighting in the hallway is vague and sunlight is very short lived downstairs.

We left the current light fixture because it works at the moment and we're not yet ready to swap it out just yet. In the future we plan on adding can or recessed lighting for some extra lighting above the shower as well. Who am I kidding this whole bathroom will eventually get gutted probably but these are just some of the details we're planning to swap.

Truth is we're being mindful about the things and projects that need priority and which ones are most cost effective for now, so until then, lots of paint jobs have been at play and in the near future.

This photo is from how it started, when the house was first listed from a few years prior to the owners that were here just before us, if that makes sense.

How it started.

And how it's going. What it looks like now.

I think right now, this is probably my favorite makeover yet. With this bathroom makeover, all I bought was the shower curtain and paint, everything else are things (bathroom mat, art and decor) from our previous home.  Again, this is a temporary look, but we love how much more refreshing it feels and that it feels more like a spa rather than a kids bathroom with the turquoise paint it had before.

I will link the shower curtain from Target and other items below.
